Yorkdale-Glen Park is a neighbourhood of two distinct identities. The northern half is home to Yorkdale Shopping Centre, one of Canada's most prestigious malls, where luxury brands, flagship retailers, and high-end dining draw shoppers from across the GTA. The mall's expansion over the decades has made it a retail destination of national significance, and the Yorkdale subway station and bus terminal ensure that the crowds keep coming. South of the retail zone, the Glen Park neighbourhood tells a very different story. Here, quiet residential streets of post-war bungalows and detached homes create a settled, family-oriented community that feels miles from the shopping frenzy to the north. Glen Park Avenue and Bathurst Street provide local commercial services, while Glen Long Park and Viewmount Park offer neighbourhood green space. The Glen Park neighbourhood has been slowly attracting young families priced out of midtown, drawn by the generous lot sizes and the convenience of having both Yorkdale and Glencairn subway stations within walking distance.
