Moss Park

Downtown Grit, Historic Roots, Rapid Change

About Moss Park

Moss Park is a downtown Toronto neighbourhood in the midst of profound transformation. Bounded roughly by Jarvis Street, Queen Street East, Parliament Street, and Dundas, the area has long been one of the city's grittiest pockets, home to shelters, social services, and a visible population experiencing homelessness. But Moss Park is also a neighbourhood of deep history and growing investment, and its story is far more complex than its reputation suggests. The neighbourhood sits on some of the most centrally located land in Toronto, minutes from the Eaton Centre, the Distillery District, and the St. Lawrence Market. The historic Moss Park Armoury anchors the green space at its centre, and the surrounding blocks include a mix of Toronto Community Housing, heritage Victorian row houses, and an increasing number of new condominium developments. George Brown College's campus brings students and vitality, and Queen East's restaurant scene is steadily expanding. Moss Park is a neighbourhood in transition, grappling honestly with urban challenges while building toward a more balanced future.
