Harbourfront-CityPlace

Waterfront Living at the Foot of Toronto's Skyline

About Harbourfront-CityPlace

Harbourfront-CityPlace is Toronto's waterfront flagship neighbourhood, stretching along the Lake Ontario shore from Bathurst Street to York Street and encompassing the dense CityPlace condo development, the Harbourfront Centre cultural campus, and some of the most dramatic urban scenery in the country. This is where Toronto meets the water, and the views — of the CN Tower, the island ferry terminal, the harbour, and the Toronto Islands — are genuinely world-class. The residential population lives overwhelmingly in the high-rise condo towers that have reshaped the waterfront over the past two decades. CityPlace, the massive master-planned development west of Spadina, added thousands of units to the skyline and created an instant neighbourhood of young professionals, downsizers, and investors. The Harbourfront Centre, a cultural institution on Queens Quay, provides year-round programming including art exhibitions, music performances, author readings, and the popular winter skating rink at Natrel Rink. Living on the waterfront comes with both rewards and trade-offs. The Martin Goodman Trail runs right through the neighbourhood, offering uninterrupted cycling and walking along the lake. The Queens Quay streetcar provides transit along the shore. But the wind off the lake can be fierce, the condo density creates crowding at peak times, and the area can feel somewhat detached from the established neighbourhoods to the north. Still, for those who want to wake up to lake views and walk to the ferry terminal, this is the only address that will do.
