Etobicoke West Mall

Family Suburb with Parks and Shopping Convenience

About Etobicoke West Mall

Etobicoke West Mall is a well-established residential neighbourhood in central Etobicoke, named after The West Mall, the road that runs through its heart. Developed through the 1960s and 1970s, the area is a prototypical Toronto suburb: winding residential streets lined with brick detached and semi-detached homes, well-maintained front lawns, and a quiet, family-oriented atmosphere that has attracted multiple generations. The neighbourhood sits between Burnhamthorpe Road and Bloor Street, with The West Mall providing the main north-south axis. Cloverdale Mall, located at the intersection of The West Mall and Dundas Street, serves as the neighbourhood's retail centre, offering a mix of everyday shops, services, and dining that keeps residents from needing to venture far. The surrounding commercial plazas provide additional options, and the proximity to Sherway Gardens to the south gives residents access to higher-end shopping when desired. The green space network here is a genuine asset. The Etobicoke Creek valley and Centennial Park border the neighbourhood, providing extensive trail systems, sports facilities, and natural areas. West Mall Park and smaller neighbourhood greens add to the recreational offerings. While the area is primarily car-dependent, bus connections to Kipling and Islington subway stations keep it linked to the broader city.
